Continuous Circulation Coupler Maris International

Subsea & Offshore Engineering
since 1977

The current JIP (Joint Industry Project) to develop Continuous Circulation Drilling is sponsored by ITF (UK Government’s Industry Technology Facilitator) and supported by Shell, BP, BG, Statoil, Total, ENI, Veba, CDL and Varco.

Continuous Circulation Drilling, which is now possible, by using an NOV CCS (National Oilwell Varco Continuous Circulation System) is now commercially available from NOV. Drilling with a CCS is expected to save an average of $1million per well drilled onshore, and considerably more offshore. See “The Coupler”

Other ongoing developments by Maris include:

The Continuous Drilling System
Compact Subsea Workover System
Compact Drilling & Coring System
Seabed Located Drilling Rigs
Seabed Power Production
Seabed Mining Machines
Open Ocean Fish Ranching

The Maris group of companies was founded in 1977 by Laurie Ayling to provide a centre and focus for Offshore and Subsea Engineering knowhow and Projects Management. Maris are currently developing technology for the exploration and production of hydrocarbons, minerals and metals in water depths of 3,000m to 6,000m, covering half of the World’s surface and deep sea fish ranching to sustain the world’s fisheries.
